Iran: U.S. Looking to Restart War
The speaker for Iran’s Parliament said that the United States is seeking to start a new war despite political and economic pressures.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf claimed Wednesday that the U.S. is looking to “start a new war,” saying, “The enemy’s movements, both overt and clandestine, show that despite economic and political pressure, it has not abandoned its military objectives and is seeking to start a new war,” Ghalibaf said in a statement shared by Iranian media, according to The Times of Israel.
“Close monitoring of the situation in the United States reinforces the possibility that they still hope for the surrender of the Iranian nation,” he reportedly added.
President Donald Trump said Monday that the United States held off on a planned attack on Iran that had been scheduled for Tuesday, citing what he described as “serious negotiations” involving key Middle Eastern allies.
Tom Green County to Consider Data Center Rule Changes
The Tom Green County Commissioners Court will consider implementing a temporary green energy and data center moratorium for Precinct 4 during its upcoming meeting.
The agenda for the court’s Tuesday, May 26, meeting calls for the commissioners to “consider placing a temporary Green Energy and Data Center Moratorium in Precinct 4 of Tom Green County.”
According to Tom Green County Precinct 4 Commissioner Shawn Nanny, the moratorium is being pursued to allow for questions about the impact of facilities such as data centers, solar farms and battery energy storage systems to be answered.
Nanny told Concho Valley Homepage that Texas Health and Safety Code Sec. 121.003 authorizes local municipalities and commissioners courts to “enforce any law that is reasonably necessary to protect the public health,” as a reason for seeking the suspension.
Data center land use regulations officially adopted by San Angelo City Council
“We just need to have some questions answered that is going to ensure the safety of the residents of this county,” Nanny said. “Plus, my precinct has two major rivers and two major creeks running through it that feed into major reservoirs in this county, so we have to be damn certain that no water is being polluted, and we have to be certain that the water is not going to be sucked dry.”
