U.S. House Votes to Limit Trump War Powers in Iran Fight

The United States House of Representatives has voted to curb President Donald J. Trump’s war powers in the conflict with Iran, voting to withdraw U.S. troops from the conflict.

It comes amid intense negotiations between the United States and Iran, which are now in the final phases, according to The White House.

The conflict began in February when the United States and Israel launched joint air strikes under Operation Epic Fury.

The strikes killed the country’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and took out much of the country’s military infrastructure and leadership.

The negotiations have continued for some time, and the U.S. was ready to resume military strikes against the country twice, when its Arab neighbors intervened and asked Trump to hold off pending further negotiations with the Iranian government.
