TV, Movie, Martial Arts Star Chuck Norris Dies at 86

Chuck Norris, who gained fame as a martial artist and an actor on the big and small screen, has died at the age of 86.


Norris, who was born in Ryan, Oklahoma in 1940, was an Air Force serviceman when he began training in the martial arts in South Korea.


He was a competitive martial artist. After he retired frome martial arts, he was encourage to give acting a try. He would go on to star in several motion pictures, including The Delta Force, Missing in Action, Sidekicks and others.


Norris was best known for his role in Walker, Texas Ranger, which garnered him several honors, including Honorary Texas Ranger and Honorary Texan.


Norris died suddenly after experiencing a medical emergency in Hawaii. He was surrounded by family and friends when he died.
